Version of gbif

Hi,
I’m using the gbif API.
Specially the request: https://api.gbif.org/v1/species/match?name=
I would like to have knowledge of the last version of the gbif API. So I would like to make a request to know it. It is possible?

thanks for the help!

Hi, what do you mean exactly with “last version of the gbif api”?

The documentation for the species api is here, and you can even try out queries on the webpage; Species API :: Technical Documentation

@sofiamoya if you are using the species match API, that means that you are querying the GBIF backbone taxonomy. It might make more sense to cite the backbone instead?

For example:

GBIF Secretariat (2023). GBIF Backbone Taxonomy. Checklist dataset GBIF Backbone Taxonomy accessed via the GBIF Species API on 2024-06-06.

thanks for your reply. I understand, that it is confusing.
I thought that I could reference the source with a version. Because updates happens every time.
like for a normal api:
GitHub API: Versión 3 (v3)
Should I do it here only like with the Day?

@sofiamoya yes, if you want to be more specific, you can cite the publication date. You can find the release notes associated with the latest Backbone version here: https://hosted-datasets.gbif.org/datasets/backbone/current/README.html. As you can see, it was last updated in August 2023.
