Yesterday we picked up this paper published in The Lancet:
Vulnerability to snakebite envenoming: a global mapping of hotspots
Although we see GBIF-mediated data used in many papers dealing with human health issues, I believe this is the first paper published in The Lancet. According to Wikipedia the journal is “among the world’s oldest, most prestigious, and best known general medical journals.”
(the author apologizes for getting the name of GBIF wrong - it will corrected in the final version)
