Publishing a Checklist of a protected area with geospatial information

I am looking for the best way to publish a checklist of a protected area, in this case the European Natura 2000 site ‘Veluwe’ Natura 2000 SDF . Item 3.2 of the Standard Data Form has a list of species that are protected in this area. And item 2.1 has the centroid coordinates. The extension Species Distribution https://rs.gbif.org/extension/gbif/1.0/distribution_2022-02-02.xml that can be used with a checklist has no option for decimal coordinates. Is it possible to add coordinates to a checklist? I also have footprintWKT polygon points which would be even better. Thank you for any suggestions. Niels

Hi Niels, do these data need to be modelled as a checklist? What would you say to publish the data directly as an occurrence dataset, with N2000 site name (.e.g Veluwe) as a dwc:locality and its Site Code (e.g.NL3009017) as a dwc:locationID? Btw, there are a lot of Natura 2000 sites in GBIF. See this example.

If the data should be published as a checklist, it is also not problem to use a Taxon core with an Occurrence extension. See for example: Lepidagathis Dalzelliana (acanthaceae), a New Species from the Northern Western Ghats

And finally, perhaps you already considered this: Population details (size and unit) could be used to populate dwc:organismQuantity and dwc:organismQuantityType. Site description could be contatenated to populate the field (dwciri:habitat) in the DwC Occurrence extension. One should think though whether it is approprate to use the SDF Update date as an dwc:eventDate….
