I’ve built this front-end to interactively search GBIF (it’s live) and related media databases. It dynamically auto-fetches everything, and gives you a variety of query options.
No AI! Designed and written entirely by hand (at the time I developed this, spring and summer 2023 I was completely unaware of AI). Pure vanilla JS! The WebAPI ecosystem is so mature meanwhile and gives you everything you need, plus you end up with much cleaner code.
Sorry for the late upload. It was originally a task for a study course, but I loved it so much that I kept developing it way beyond expected effort. It runs on top of Django, but it actually doesn’t need it (Django was prerequisite for the course). If anyone likes it, I can help you detach the JS frontend and you can run it anywhere.
If anyone wants more / different functionalities, report bugs or need help with the code, I’d be happy to help you and evolve it further.
