# Choosing a dataset class - Technical Support Hour for Nodes

Join us for the first 2026 technical support hour for GBIF nodes on the 4th of February at 4:00 pm CET. We are starting the year with revisiting [one of our old blog posts](https://data-blog.gbif.org/post/choose-dataset-type/) on how to choose a dataset class when sharing data on GBIF.

In addition to giving data providers the tools to choose a dataset type, we will also discuss how this choice may be influenced by other developments: the Darwin Core Data Package (DwC DP), the Global Registry of Scientific Collections (GRSciColl) and [checklistbank.org](http://checklistbank.org).

We will be happy to answer any questions related to or not related to the topic. Please feel free to post questions in advance in this discourse thread or write to [helpdesk@gbif.org](mailto:helpdesk@gbif.org).
